After having spent the last few days feeling devastated having lost a dear friend. I decided to go to the studio this morning and just paint. I had been focused on working on the commission I’ve been doing, — I just started painting and suddenly I was shaking with emotion, mixing colours and painting . Every brushstroke felt like it meant something. I went with it — I painted, and painted, and painted — and every stroke I made felt so intentional. Everything I did seemed to work perfectly.
This painting — this piece that emerged — somehow contains all of how I felt: the emotions, the needs, everything. It was painted with feeling, and it represents a very special place in the heart of my friends who just love Madeira.
