Encaustic painting gives me space to breathe. I escape to my studio with the beautiful views across the river and the open fields and I am immediately uplifted before I start. I switch on my hot tools and the excitements begins. Some days I have no idea what I am going to do when I start and then something leaps off the paper and I am away. During this time I become engrossed in the colours, smells and textures I create and I lose all sense of time.
